Tony Lagouranis, Former US Army Interrogator: Story Update (5 Dec)

Happy Monday morning, iNoodlers!

In brief, the Tony Lagouranis story continues to grow. You may click here for yesterday's update and to link to other related posts.

The following table indicates the resulting number of hits, by date, of a Google search performed on "Tony Lagouranis":

1 DEC: 694
2 DEC: 756
3 DEC: 938
4 DEC: 10,700
5 DEC: 12,400

This is a 16-percent increase in the number of hits since yesterday, or a 1,687-percent increase since December 1.

The Tony Lagouranis story update which I posted to UK Indymedia (and, originally, to iNoodle.com) on December 2 has continued moving up the page-rankings of the first page of the resulting 12,400 Google hits.

Additionally, an update posted to UK Indymedia on December 3 has climbed its way to the first page of hits as well despite UK Indymedia's editorial decision, pending review, to "hide" the page as being, in essence, a repeat post; the December 4 post is presently in this status as well.

I have voiced my disagreement with this editorial decision on the grounds that the importance of the new information warrants a separate news update. Is yesterday's reported 1,041-percent increase from 938 to 10,700 hits not newsworthy given that the complicit corporate media have failed to cover this story which provides a firsthand account of war crimes which the US and UK governments deny? Would such a percentage increase in, say, a stock market index not warrant a separate article?

Regardless, the unbiased Google page-rankings make it clear that the worldwide internet public finds the updates relevant, and two of the UK Indymedia posts are presently ranked #6 and #7, with the story-breaking PBS FRONTLINE and Democracy Now! interviews being #1 and #2, respectively.

The hits and rankings are relevant only as incidental indicators that we're helping this story to make its way into the public realm. Let's continue to do so.
