Banksters, blue skies and beyond ...
A vaguely interesting article from yesterday's (received at 23:07 GMT) Information Clearing House mailout misses the point in that it assumes benevolent intent by the US government or, rather, the self-seeking politicos who steer the ship (or so they say). Fortunately, the ICH headline piece doesn't grant blanket benevolence as its launching point, but rather states that which should be obvious to anyone paying attention: that is, that the primary reason for the bailouts is not really to save the fast-sinking economy; rather, it's (yet further) payout time for the financial hucksters, the banksters, who seem to have the almighty power – much like Israel (or is there perhaps overlap here?) – to 'legislate' US policy, at home and abroad.
But for me, having finished my villanelle yesterday, I am about to head out on a long walk in the bright winter sunshine – along the way visiting friends who have onboard their own family vessel a newly born baby – prior to tonight's final meeting of the Writing for Winter course which Rebecca has been teaching in our fair East Sussex village. Next Thursday, my own creative writing course, entitled Spring Emergence, will begin. For anyone local, or thereabouts, who is interested in joining us, drop me an email.
